Historic Nutbourne Houses: The Camber

1911 Postcard

The Camber is a period pre-1800 stone dwelling with brick quoins and appears to have been renovated around 1906. The postcard above shows the building prior to the restyling of the windows. The original style is similar to the 1906 renovations carried out on the adjacent Old Manor; both had similar front first floor jettied timber surround panels and have since had their false dormers removed, perhaps during a further refurbishment in the mid 1900s.

As this picture from 2004 shows, the outbuildings have evolved from barns and milking parlours
and the gardens are devoted to a wide variety of plants.
